Rated 5 out of 5 by TrueAudiophile from Excellent sound..Probably the best I've ever heard I waited a long time to get my hand on these, but its truly worth the wait. These are the best sounding headphones I've ever tried...I felt lost in listening to some of my favorite songs on these....The sound quality is exquisite and very fine to even the minute detail. However I do have a few complaints.. There is no Battery Indicator and I also wish there is way to listen without the ANC on... nevertheless, I'm happy with my purchase.. and hope to enjoy this for many years to come!

Rated 5 out of 5 by franklyspeaking from Effortless Long haul flights are now a real pleasure! These cans offer exquisite sound quality that never has you or your ears feeling fatigued. Just a joy to experience, in addition to the masterstroke of removing so much of the unwanted surrounding noise. Ps a real treat if you decide to watch a movie. It’s on a different level to what us mere mortals are used to listening to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HardofHearing from Great headphones for hearing impaired!!! I bought the N90Q as a replacement for the Master and Dynamic M60. I am hearing impaired, e.g. I wear hearing aids (hard of hearing, but not deaf although they my wife would say I am deaf). So I where I work I am on the phone a lot and it’s way more comfortable ton use headphones as opposed to a handset. However one of my biggest issues has been finding a headset that can provide me the volume level and block outside noises and can provide good call quality for kotbjust me but the phone recipient on the other and side. So after testing traditional headphones and wireless headsets from Plantronics to Sennheiser, I mean I tried literally over 40 different pairs of headphones (from traditional to Audiophile) and couldn’t find the right combination of headphones and mic that would allow me to have a great call so I could be heard well and also hear well while blocking out my office environment. What I landed with initially was the MW60 because they have a great external boom mic you can hook up to them. That worked well for a while but then I started losing more of my hearing so I went back at it trying to find headphones that can give me what I needed to work well on the phone. The long and short I found the N90Q and absolutely love them. It was the right combo of volume and noise cancellation while hooked up to my Master and Dynamic Boom Mic. The only issue I had was that the boom mic has a 3.5 mm male but the N90Q is a 2.5 mm female. So luckily I found a company that was able to creat a modded adapter that would allow me to use both (gear the call and be heard through my boom mic). Unfortunately thebafapters I bought didn’t work so I had to get a special order adapter. Nonetheless, this is the traditional way to use high end headphones but I am sure grateful I found these. If these headphones ever go bad I’ll be sure to come back to AKG!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Movealong from Extremely over priced Brought these a few weeks ago along with my new galaxy and i have to be honest, these things should give you the best sound experience in the world but they just d not get close to my old studio 2's. Definetly overpriced with poor sound quality. Would never use them again. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by VuTangClan from Good but can be better. Waited almost a year to get my hands on these. The sound coming from these are crystal clear. I can even discern what people is saying in the background from the music. NC is better than the JBL Elite 700. The ear cups seals out most of the sound from leaching out. Less pressure on the head compared to the JBL Elite 700. DSP and EQ is too minute that it feels like nothing really changed on the music. It falls short compared to the AKG K3003i in sound envelopment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ShibaMato from Spitzenklang!

How to know in which mode we are (Standard, Studio, Surround)? When we power it on, is the headphone by default in standard mode?
There is no feedback informing you which setting you have selected. You must simply switch between them, and decide which one you like best. Usually, it is easiest to hear when the Surround mode is active, and once you have found that mode, you will know that the next two selections will be Standard and Studio. Here is an explanation of the three AKG N90Q Listening Modes: Three different spatial listening modes are provided. Each mode is characterized by a different spatial perception of the apparent acoustic surroundings. The first mode Standard renders the music unprocessed, like in any conventional headphone. This is useful in particular, if you use external processors such as Dolby headphone or DTS headphone X. The second mode Studio brings the sound stage to the front of the head, without adding any room effect, by means of a novel cross talk circuit derived from a patented, simplified model of head-related transfer functions. The third mode Surround adds simulated reflections around the head, designed so that you perceive the sound stage at a greater distance, without disturbing artifacts such as coloration or reverb. The mode is changed by simply pressing and immediately releasing the button. (This is the same button used to trigger auto calibration). Music being played is temporarily interrupted; the mode is changed immediately, and a brief “brushing” sound is played to illustrate the acoustic effect of the new mode. The music then immediately resumes playing using the new mode.
